Meet Coach Malloy

Profile

Jason Malloy

Jason Malloy is “home grown”, a local, passionate, accomplished athlete and sports enthusiast turned enthusiastic, caring, motivated, educator.  He has repeatedly been recognized for sports excellence, which earned him award after award, leading to a full sports scholarship to Western MI University (2003), where in addition to his studies, he also played college football.   His undergraduate major was Elementary Education, with a Minor in Math, Science, and Physical Education.  While his original plan was to pursue a career as a professional football player, an injury prevented same.  Instead, Malloy sought to develop his passion as an educator.  He returned to his roots, which is where he teaches.  His professional career as a Teacher/Educator bears striking resemblance to his past success as a student athlete, with one success followed by another.  While he launched his professional career as an Elementary School Educator, it was not long before he advanced to the position of Elementary School Principal Designee (2005).  He was subsequently promoted to High School Dean of Students (2010). In 2011, he returned to working as a Principal Designee/6th Grade teacher, then in 2013, he was promoted to another role as Dean of Students (grades 6-9).  As he was advancing professionally, Malloy was simultaneously working on earning an Advanced Degree in Sports Administration from Central Michigan University (2012), leading to his promotion to the role of Athletic Director (2014), which remains his current role.  Jason Malloy also has years of professional coaching experience, which includes past professional experience as a High School Coach or Head Coach, also experience as an Intern Director of Football Operations at a local University.

He founded Next Level in 2004, shortly following his college graduation (2003).  Malloy, an outstanding athlete and football enthusiast admits that his brief experience at Football Camp as a student athlete changed his life.  Coaching messages that Malloy received at Football Camp resonated with him.  It was there that he learned how to improve, not only in football, but in life.  He learned that there was a correlation between efforts and success.  He also learned to summon his internal strength to be his best self, then to direct himself to overcome any challenges that he faced, on the field or in life.  He learned that he could achieve success if he applied himself.  He admits that those lessons, which he learned at Football Camp doubled as life lessons, that continue to lead, guide him.  He wants the same for others.  Malloy loves sports, seeks to teach student athletes sport excellence.  At the same time, he wants to pass onto other student athletes, like he was, messages that will promote not only sports excellence, but also some of the messages that he learned to support, motivate, drive student athletes to their best performance, not only in sports, but in life.  As an educator, he hopes to similarly lead student athletes to realize his full potential, also to learn to literally drive his talents/abilities to overcome the challenges he will face, in sports and in life.
